King NA next meets on Wednesday of next week, on February 12. We'll hear from the Bureau of Transportation on the North Rodney Bike/Greenway project, which passes through the west end of King; get a report back from the recent 1st meeting of the Sabin-King Sustainability Team; and then we'll open the 2nd half of the meeting for a discussion of Vanport. We meet Feb. 12th, 6:30 pm, at the King Facility, 4815 NE 7th Avenue.
Stop by the King Facility today to meet & great all of the fine folks who work in (and around) the building. On hand will be: Staff from the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods; members of the King NA board; members of Portland State's Art & Social Justice program, who are setting up shop in the building; and coordinators of Green King, our micro-local sustainability volunteer workteam that's reshaping the King School grounds. There will also be live music, and treats from Tamale Boy! Join us today, anytime between 5:30 and 7:30, at the King Facility, 4815 NE 7th Avenue. On Sunday (Feb 9th), stop by the Black Cat Café at 12th & Alberta, between 4 & 5:30. Nearby neighbors and the new owners of the Café are hosting an open house to celebrate the change in ownership, and the commitment among the owners and neighbors to improving livability together. Come celebrate the re-launch of the Café under new management and a new name, and mingle with neighbors!
