Ballot Measure 26-236

Ballot Measure 26-236, which would establish a capital gains tax for Multnomah
County, is one of the most significant inclusions in the upcoming special election.
The measure itself is found on page M-72 of the Multnomah County Voters’
Pamphlet.

The KNA was approached by a representative of Building Our Future Together to speak at the May KNA meeting. Due to miscommunication, we did not reach out to someone from the opposing camp, which we would have preferred, as it gives our neighbors differing perspectives from which they can come to their own conclusions.

Regrettably, though we did not have anyone from the Pro camp as a counterpoint, websites from both Pro and Con sides are included below for you to read and come to your own conclusions. This is going to be a significant measure, with impacts that will be felt across a broad spectrum of our county’s population. We recommend that you take the time to become familiar with it and make an informed decision.
