Featured

Due to some issues getting access to the KNA blog restored, we will not be meeting on our normal first Tuesday of the month in December, but will be meeting instead on Wednesday, December 13th. Also the January meeting will be pushed off for one week in January, to January 9th, due to proximity to the New Years Day holiday.

Please join us for the December meeting of the King Neighborhood Association. Find out what’s going on in King Neighborhood, meet your neighbors, talk about current issues, and find out about volunteer opportunities. — This will be a virtual-only meeting. We will not be meeting at the NECN offices in December. There were some access issues for the November meeting; so agenda items from November will be pushed to December 13th.

Where: Online Virtual Meeting
Virtual via Google Meet: meet.google.com/dzt-jhcj-uog

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School Vandalized with Hate Speech and Graffiti

Our own Dr. MLK Jr. Elementary School has been vandalized with hate speech and graffiti targeted at children. Please review the KOIN.com article listed for more details and PLEASE use the number at the end of the article if you have any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of those responsible.

The children of our community deserve the best and should not be subjected to immature and hateful displays such as this. We need to find those responsible and see that they face consequences for their attempts to terrorize children.

Franklin Family Foundation Holiday Event a Success!

Here a few pictures of the amazing Franklin Family holiday fest.  At least a couple hundred folks attended the event.

In addition to a free meal and toys for all the kids, tables were set up to make wreaths (KNA board member Cheri Folsom was a happy guide!), decorate candy canes, paint faces, and make gingerbread houses/ice cream cone Christmas trees and ornaments.  There was a packed house with a lot of joy for a lot of kids and their families.
