Hughes Memorial UMC presents its
Seventh Annual Black History Month Celebration 2013
February 24, 2013
An Ecumenical Service emphasizing the importance of education especially in the African American and minority communities
4-7 pm; includes dinner
We extend a cordial invitation to our friends and neighbors and invite everyone to join us for an evening of music, speakers, skits and great Soul Food.
Education can be a ticket out of poverty, crime and gangs for our young people who otherwise feel they have no hope of a productive and happy future.
Our keynote speaker is Educator Renee Anderson of rant High School. Musicians from Vancouver Avenue Baptist Church, and Allen Temple AMEZ will be joining us.
We begin 4 pm at Hughes Memorial UMC, 111 NE Failing, ad the evening concludes with a delicious Soul Food dinner (free to all). Please consider joining us on Sunday, February 24. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to this event.
