Get in on the Garage Sale–June 11th

King will be organizing our first-annual, neighborhood-wide garage sale day on June 11th. By having your own garage sale on that day with your neighbors, we will pool our advertising and get more traffic! Shoppers will be able to navigate using our online map and see details provided by the sellers. Registration is only $5 and will get you on the map as well as a classy yard sign to mark your spot. Press Conference to Maintain Anti-Gang Funding


A news conference on the need to protect federal law enforcement programs that help fight gang violence will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 28th at the Portland Police Bureau North Precinct, 449 NE Emerson Street. With gang violence on the increase, now is not the time to decrease federal law enforcement programs.

Attending will be:

Senator Ron Wyden;
Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton;
Multnomah County Commissioner Loretta Smith;
Commander James C. Ferraris, Portland Police Bureau;
Gang Resistance Education And Training Program members;
City of Portland officials

Ladies Rock Camp (LRC) , an exciting and unique opportunity for women 21 and older, has openings available for the LRC session May 13-15, 2011. Presented by The Rock ā€˜n’ Roll Camp for Girls, a northeast Portland non-profit that builds self-esteem through music creation and performance, Ladies Rock Camp was created as a response to women expressing their wish that Rock Camp existed when they were girls.

Artists Seek Interesting Portland Relationship Stories

Two Pittsburgh artists seek pairs or groups of Portland locals to participate in city-wide art project, We Were Here. We Were Here is a tour of places throughout Portland, Oregon where intimately connected friends, lovers, relations, and other significant partners first met. On Sunday, May 15, the pairs will share a dance in the location where they first met, with musical accompaniment, while sharing the story of their relationship with the public.
