Good in the Neighborhood, this weekend – June 27-29.
Good in the Neighborhood is an annual event that is held in North/Northeast Portland that has helped to unify and promote the many cultural aspects of the community.
This year we celebrate all weekend long – June 27, 28, and 29th. Food, music, games, dancing… a summer sun-soaked festival of culture and community: Join us!
The festival will include genres such as Live – Jazz, Blues, R&B, Latin, Pop, Conscious Hip/Hop; and NEO-Soul…complemented with a DJ intermission.

Open meeting on June 28th for a proposed mural at 4008 NE MLK (at Shaver) – all are welcome!
The neighborhood is invited to a public meeting to discuss a proposed new mural on the north side of the Irvington Covenant Church’s annex building, located at 4008 NE MLK. (The picture above shows the mural by Isaka Shamsud-Din that is on the south side of the same building.)
The north side of the building is currently painted blank; an earlier mural was removed when the building underwent repairs a couple of years ago.
The mural meeting is Saturday, June 28th, from 10 am to 10:30, inside the building at 4008 NE MLK. The artist is Peg Butler; you can email her at butlerpeg@gmail.com.

Join Kitchen Share NE and our partners at the Salt and Light Lutheran Church for an afternoon of all-ages activities, live music, potluck food, and more!
