Portland Financial Planning Day – a free personal finance event

City of Portland, CASH Oregon, and the Financial Planning Association of Portland invite you to attend Portland Financial Planning Day on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Avenue, 2nd floor, where you’ll be able to meet one-on-one with dozens of professional financial planners to discuss your personal finance questions, concerns and interests.

Information will be provided on a pro-bono basis by experts from the Financial Planning Association and highly qualified CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals. There are no strings attached – volunteering financial planners will not pass out business cards, marketing materials or sell products or services.

Umpqua Bank Alberta will be hosting an event for families to “Plan Ahead for College” on Thursday, October 11th @ 6:30 pm.  Kyle Hunter of Umpqua Investments will speak in detail on the Oregon College Savings plan and answer questions from the audience.  We will be providing some light food and beverages as well.

Public Meetings to Discuss “Respectful Traveling” on Williams

Dear North Williams Community Members,

This summer, the City of Portland will run a special educational campaign to encourage safe and respectful traveling on North Williams.

While discussions about changes to the roadway continue as part of the North Williams Traffic Safety Project, we have heard loud and clear from the community that how people interact with one another while traveling up North Williams is just as important as engineering, and that conditions on the street feel dangerous today and should be addressed as soon as possible.
