This website provides a comprehensive guide to senior resources in the greater Portland area. They can connect you with resources for senior housing, health at home services, and more.
  • The Multnomah County Aging & Disability website at https://multco.us/ads. They can help you enroll in government programs, locate adult care homes, and get support for unpaid family care givers. For example, for information about finding a home care worker, call 503-988-3646. For information about adult care homes and assisted living, call 503-988-3000 or email adrc@multco.us.

Detrash Portland – King Neighborhood trash clean up event

Date: Sunday September 13th
Time: Check in anytime between 10:00 – 10:30am. There will be a staggered check in at this event.
Event will run from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm.
Where: We will meet just outside of the Farmer’s Market by the basketball court. Look for signs directing you toward the volunteers wearing high-vis vests.

Come join Detrash Portland as we team up with Portland Schools and the King Farmers Market for a Northeast neighborhood trash and litter clean up event.

This event will be entirely out-doors and will comply with social distancing guidelines. WEAR A MASK! Please. 

After a quick sign-in, we will spend a few hours picking up litter and trash in and around the King Neighborhood. We will provide bags, gloves, and trash grabbers. Afterward we recommend that you pop into the Farmers Market to support our local vendors. 

What’s Provided: Heavy-duty garbage bags, litter grabbers and vinyl gloves. If you have your own gloves, litter grabber, litter bag, or bucket, you are encouraged to bring those as well.

Let’s make a difference. Many hands make light work.

Detrash Portland needs civic minded volunteers for another trash pick up event!

We will be hosting a clean up event on Saturday September 5th to pick up litter from the streets, gutters, and drains in the North Portland Boise neighborhood. We will be meeting at the corner of the Lillis Albina Park at N Russell and N Flint Avenue by the baseball field at 10 am. From there we will provide trash grabbers, gloves, and bags to our volunteers. 

Trash pick up is an activity that complies with social distancing guidelines while at the same time benefits our city greatly. Safety is are utmost priority. We hope you can come out an help make a difference.

Masks will be required to participate in this event.  Please also dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes. 

Ex Novo has also partnered with Detrash Portland for this event. They will be just down the street from our meeting location. Ex Novo has been gratcious enough to offer all volunteers to this event a 10% discount to any to-go orders or on site guest tabs, food, draft beer, package beer, or merchandise.

They are also open for Phase 1 dinein and encourage any participants to stay after the trash pick up event to have lunch. They encourage you to make a reservation first through Resy.com or through the link on their website http://www.exnovobrew.com/portland

KNA Meeting Minutes 3/10/20 (Draft)

Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty talked about the Portland Street Response program and fielded questions about the Residential Infill Project (RIP).

Guest speakers from the African Women’s Coalition talked about how they are helping African immigrants and refugees in Portland, and how you can volunteer.
