Step It Up’s Teen Art Festival this weekend, at Lloyd Center!

Join Step It Up, Inc. for “It’s a Scream!” Teen Art Festival on October 15, 2011, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Step It Up’s office in Lloyd Center Mall. Join us for an expert pumpkin sculpting demonstration and decorate your own, amazing art for sale, treats, face painting, and more fun!

When: Saturday, October 15, 2011, 1:00-5:00 p.m.

“It’s a Scream!” is free if you wear a costume, or there is a suggested $5 donation for adults, $1 for teens, and kids ages 12 and under are free!

All proceeds from the event will benefit Step It Up, Inc. and our youth development programs.

The Sweat It Up 5K Registration Is Now Open!

Join Step It Up, Inc. as they host the annual Sweat It Up 5K on June 25, 2011. Join them for food, fun, games, and a 5K run/walk around the Irvington and King neighborhoods. Sign-up for the Sweat It Up run/walk, enter to win some great prizes, and enjoy a free breakfast!

Step it Up Career Club Enrolling Now

Step It Up, Inc. has a NEW Career Club starting in March at the Lloyd Center mall in NE Portland. Step It Up, Inc. provides youth with career knowledge, experiential learning and continuous support to help them transform their futures. To help support our teens, SIU is excited to be starting an
after-school Career Club, where youth can come improve their writing skills, communication skills, learn about personal finances, learn about their talents and strengths, and explore the many different career opportunities.

Step It Up Helps Youth Succeed

From Step It Up:

Career development is important, especially for teens. At a time when youth unemployment is at historic highs, learning what being in the workplace is like, what skills are needed, and how to act are essential for youth to achieve success in the workforce and in life. But many youth are disconnected from these opportunities, having no chance to learn skills that will help them succeed in a professional career. Alexis was one of these teens, yet through Step It Up, Inc.’s programs, she was able to gain career knowledge, experiential learning, and continuous support.
