The plans show SEDUs (small efficiency dwelling units) of about 280 square feet on floors 3 and 4, and smaller (80 square foot) “lofts” on floor 5. From previous meetings with the developer, we understand that these micro-units will be “short-term furnished rentals.” Floors 1 and 2 are devoted to shops, offices, spa services, and conference rooms.

How to Help the Walnut Park Shelter

The Walnut Park Shelter in King (5329 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) is an overnight, temporary seasonal shelter for up to 80 people experiencing homelessness, including women, couples, and men,with priority for people 55 and older, those with disabilities, and veterans.

The shelter needs volunteers to help prepare meals, clean the shelter, and provide blankets and coats.
