The Sabin Triangle: a presentation!

Architects Without Borders have been helping with the Sabin Community develop ideas for an under used portion of the right-of-way along NE Prescott Ave and 15thstreet. The design team and representatives from Sabin will be making a presentation on Wednesday, 10/26, at 6pm, and we’d like to invite you and neighborhood representatives to attend.  This project is one example of how our group, a 100% volunteer organization, can provide design assistance to our local community groups (absolutely free of charge).

The presentation will be at the Center for Architecture, 403 NW 11th Avenue. We hope to see you there.

You can preview the project at http://www.awboregon.org/2011/08/sabin-neighborhood-pocket-park-portland/

King NA hope to have someone from Sabin NA at our monthly meeting in December who can update us on the Triangle, Sabin’s work to change traffic on Fremont Street, and other projects. We hope we’ll see you there!

Reimagining 15th & Prescott

From Sabin Community Association:

The triangle at 15th & Prescott needs help. Currently it’s a paved space with no character or charm that routinely gets misused and tagged with graffiti. Nearby residents and businesses would like to see that change. So the Sabin Community association is soliciting ideas and raising funds to make the space more welcoming to all community members.

Please join us on Saturday March 12th from 2 to 4 pm on the corner of 15th and Prescott for a charrette on the Sabin Triangle. After we walk the site, we will head to Grain & Gristle for a comfortable place to share ideas. Volunteer architects will be on hand to guide the process. We hope to do something innovative to let people know that they are in Sabin and that this is a great community. Call Rosemarie Cordello with questions (503) 493-9434.
